Our Human Family
Ok, so I was watching the "Today" show the other day and Anne Curry was talking about Captain Sulley who landed the plane in the Hudson. She made a statement as she was giving the segment back to Matt Lauer that caught my attention. She mentioned what a wonderful thing he had done for our human family by saving all those people's lives. That phrase, "our human family" stayed with me. I love the implication that we are all one big human family - that in saving those people, he did something for me - for my kids - for everyone. I come from a relatively small family (compared to the Brakers! ha!) I kind of like thinking that I have a "human family". I am reminded of the Good Samaritain. Who is our brother? Who is our neighbor? God, help me to see those around me as part of my family - help me to care and to invest in other's lives.
Have a great week hangin' with the fam...
